In Remembrance: David Roth

David Paul Roth Passed away February 12th.
David served four years in the Air Force and moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1957 where he graduated from the University of Oregon with a Business degree in 1960. He soon started an accounting firm named Roth & Rice CPAs along with Dick Rice. In 1982, they merged with fellow accounting firm Jones, Griesel, Noah & Lewis. The partners agreed on a simple combination of the two firms’ managing partners Lanny Jones and David Roth—Jones & Roth—and it has been known by that name ever since.
David’s son-in-law Jeff Bourdage had joined Roth & Rice as a new accountant and later went on to become a Jones & Roth partner himself.
David and his wife of nearly 70 years, Shirley, loved to play tennis, golf, and travel together in their motorhome. He also enjoyed riding his bike around the riverside trails of Eugene.
His influence and his example of putting clients first lives on….and we want to celebrate and honor him. David will be missed by us here at Jones & Roth and by all those whose lives he touched.
